Urban Block UB10 is a mixed-use residential complex designed by Kleinewelt Architekten for a site on Vereyskaya Street in Moscow’s Mozhaysky District. The project is organized as a dense urban block that brings together several residential towers, a continuous podium with public functions, and a large internal courtyard. Rather than treating the development as a group of isolated buildings, the architects shaped it as a single urban fragment with a clear perimeter, a protected interior landscape, and a hierarchy of volumes rising from the shared base.

The composition is built from six volumes of different heights. Low and mid-rise elements define the street edge and the podium condition, while taller towers give the complex its vertical emphasis, culminating in a 71-storey landmark volume. This variation in height allows the project to balance density with a more articulated skyline and to avoid the uniformity of a single repeated type. The ensemble reads as one structure, but each part has its own role within the overall composition.

A central part of the project is the landscaped courtyard, designed as an enclosed interior garden for residents. The courtyard combines several kinds of use: children’s play areas for different age groups, a sports zone with exercise equipment and space for yoga, walking paths, quiet seating areas, a covered pavilion, a water-side resting place, and an outdoor table conceived as a shared work space with power outlets. This inner landscape gives the block a softer and more domestic scale at its center, in contrast with the compactness of the perimeter.

The podium is not treated as a purely technical base. At ground level it contains an active public program, including shops, cafés, restaurants, office space, resident lobbies, stroller rooms, pet-wash areas, and service functions. The project is designed to support everyday urban life along the street while keeping the residential courtyard more sheltered and inward-looking. This layering of public and private space is one of the defining features of the scheme.

The façade strategy is based on a restrained palette and a careful calibration of repeated elements. The main materials include aluminium curtain-wall systems, glass, ventilation grilles, and horizontal bands of architectural concrete in a light sandstone tone. The contrast between darker metal framing and lighter concrete belts gives the towers a measured rhythm and helps relate the vertical volumes to the more solid podium below. In the lobby and podium areas, larger glazed openings reinforce the public character of the lower levels.

UB10 is conceived as a high-density residential block with a mixed urban program and a strong internal spatial structure. Its architectural identity comes from the combination of a clear perimeter, a varied skyline, an active base, and a landscaped courtyard that gives the project an inner center of gravity.
