Conde de Orgaz House in Madrid, Spain

The project, designed by tresunouno architecture studio, takes the form of an L-shaped private residence that frames a carefully designed inner garden—an architecture conceived to be lived and enjoyed both indoors and outdoors.

By integrating the dwelling with exterior spaces, generous porches have been created, extending from the entrance to the main living areas and blurring the boundaries of the built volume.

The volumetric composition incorporates a strategic placement of openings and glazed fronts, oriented according to the views from each space. The alternation between glazed surfaces and opaque walls seeks both the desired openness towards the garden and the necessary degree of privacy.

A light-toned stone cladding unifies the overall massing, allowing the façades to act as visual backdrops to the garden, which is defined by the building’s bays and established as the central element of the intervention. In the porches, a darker ribbed stone enhances the depth of shaded areas, underscoring the intent to texture surfaces that are closest to human contact. The continuity between interior and exterior flooring, reinforced by a consistent tonal palette, strengthens the idea of dissolving the limits between spaces.
