Photos from Summer 2011 of this historic Catalan religious structure in the Barri Gothic:
Well-preserved historic architecture in the centre of the old city. This is a stone building locked into the tight web of streets and alleyways in the Barri Gothic.
The building is being refurbished almost continuously, certainly on visits in 2006 and 2011.
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia (Catalan: Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia, Spanish: Catedral de la Santa Cruz y Santa Eulalia), also known as Barcelona Cathedral, is the Gothic cathedral and seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona, Spain. The cathedral was constructed from the 13th to 15th centuries, with the principal work done in the 14th century.
The cloister, which encloses the Well of the Geese (Font de les Oques) was completed in 1448. In the late 19th century, the neo-Gothic façade was constructed over the nondescript exterior that was common to Catalan churches. The roof is notable for its gargoyles, featuring a wide range of animals, both domestic and mythical.
It is a pseudobasilica, vaulted over five aisles, the outer two divided into chapels. The transept is truncated. The east end is a chevet of nine radiating chapels connected by an ambulatory. The high altar is raised, allowing a clear view into the crypt.

Stone from Clashach Quarry, Moray, is being used to complete parts of the Cathedral. Also, in 2006, sandstone from the same quarry – Moray Stone Cutters – is being used at Sagrada Familia by Gaudi in Barcelona.

Just entering the reception area, our retina already obtains the hallmarks of the entire project: a sharp style with an industrial character, very welcoming and with a futuristic point, which harmonizes with the cutting-edge technology offered by the company GSS Security.
