Troughton McAslan Architects is a British architectural firm known for its contribution to postwar modern architecture, particularly during the mid-20th century.
The practice was led by William Troughton and Ian McAslan, and became associated with a pragmatic yet expressive modernist approach. Their work often balanced functional requirements with a clear structural logic and a restrained material palette.
Troughton McAslan Architects gained recognition for a range of public and institutional projects, reflecting the era’s emphasis on rebuilding and modernization across the United Kingdom. Their designs typically emphasized durability, efficiency, and clarity, aligning with broader architectural movements of the time.
Through their work, the practice contributed to shaping Britain’s architectural landscape in the postwar period, producing buildings that combined technical rigor with a quietly confident modernist identity.
