The school is a reference in the field of Design and opens its door on summers to, in partnership with Center Georges Pompidou and Vitra Design Musem, provide courses focusing on design and architecture.
And, for the second time – his course is confirmed from July 26-August 1st, 2015 -, Brazilian designer Marcelo Rosenbaum has been invited to give a workshop at Boisbuchet, this time on Essential Design, a practical exercise that stimulates the hability to identify, validate and co-create within a social context, using desing as a process that proposes change.
The goal, according to Marcelo Rosenbaum, is to show how some of the Essential Design concepts may be a process of collective discovery, embracing common values to reach new creative forms from social innovation and an evolution of human values. The methodology and knowledge applied on the workshop will be based on the project “A Gente Transforma” [We Transform] and many immersions Marcelo Rosenbaum has made into Brazilian communities.
Among the speakers who have given courses at Boisbuchet are Ron Arad, Marcel Wanders, Jaime Hayón, the Bouroullec brothers, Michelle de Lucchi, El Último Grito, Matali Crasset, among others. This year, in addition to Marcelo Rosenbaum, the names confirmed include Alvaro Siza and Carlos Castanheira, Humberto Campana, Bless, Patrick Norguet, Cecilie Manz, Bart Hess, among other big names.
The courses are, on average, 1 week long, and are known to be an intense and unforgettable creative, reflection and work experience for students, designers and architects coming from around the world. Unforgettable landscapes, temporary exhibits and pavilions designed by world-famous architects spread throughout the property complement the program of experimentation and immersion in design.
