Earlier in 2011 a jury chaired by Swiss architect Aurelio Galfetti selected the building, designed by DAP studio and Paola Giaconia, as the best public building completed in the Province of Bergamo, in Northern Italy, in the last 10 years.

This façade stands out further on the building gutter line and laterally its design suggests the idea of an unfinished bell tower. In this case, neither the bidimensional outline has a counterpart in the interiors. A few ornamental elements mark the façade hierarchies.

Milan Architects Practice Information

This Italian architecture practice was founded in 1992 in Milan by Elena Sacco and Paolo Danelli, graduates from the Faculty of Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano.
This architectural studio has been working for public and private clients, on architectural projects which range in scale from interiors to houses to libraries.
In the last few years this Milan architecture office have focused especially on the design of cultural institutions.
They couple their design activity with the management and development of cultural projects. This Milan architecture practice participated in the 12th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, in the Italian Pavilion, and were nominated for the 2011 Mies van der Rohe award.
In 2009 the architecture practice received a mention at the Golden Medal Prize for Italian Architecture (Premio Medaglia d’Oro all’Architettura Italiana).
