Zaha Hadid Architects and A_Lab have won the architectural competition to design the Fornbuporten and Fornebu Senter stations, two of the six stations planned for the new Fornebubanen metro line in Oslo.
One of Europe’s fastest growing cities, Oslo’s population has increased to more than a million people living within its urban area defined by forests and mountains to the north, east and west, and by the Oslofjord to the south.

Meatpacking Distric New York. THE ICONIC SHAPE is a direct result of a narrow and wedge-shaped leftover plot, at the very end of BARCODE. THE DESIGN IS ROOTED IN A DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLE of bestowing all users with excellent working conditions, good lighting and access to both formal and informal meeting spaces. COLUMN-FREE INTERIOR makes the office spaces completely flexible and increases adaptability for shifting needs of different tenants.

The scale and drama of the spaces created under the cantilevers is breathtaking and points in the direction of a remarkable achievement for both the client, IT Fornebu, and the architect. The project won the Future commercial prize at the 2009 World Architecture Festival.

The cube will be a pilot project for the design studio’s eco-BIM technology. The Økern area faces significant changes in the near future and is being developed as a new destination in Oslo. The new Økern center brings industry, culture and housing to the area. Lørenveien 68 can function as a broker between the new Økern center and Løren’s established residential area.

The construction of the new library and renovation of City Hall in Søgne, Norway is starting in the midst of September. The parish hall will be rebuilt, and the building will get a new third floor, which will allow for an outdoor scene. The future-oriented new library will be twice as large as the current one.

Furuset Masterplan – Competition win, Oslo, Norway

The project goal is to condense the suburb Furuset i Groruddalen outside Oslo in Norway, with 2,500 new homes and 1,500 new workspaces, and to reduce CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2030. The project provides a district that stands for sustainable urban development.
