Squire and Partners gains planning consent for new development on Piccadilly
Squire and Partners, along with Parwick Investments and CORE, are delighted at Westminster City Council’s decision to consent the plans for a new mixed use scheme on Piccadilly.
The scheme comprises four buildings near the north-east corner of Green Park. A high quality ten storey residential building is planned to overlook the park, retail units at ground floor will provide a vibrant street frontage onto Piccadilly, and a commercial office building is at the centre of the site. The scheme also includes a new affordable housing building on Bolton Street.
Additionally, the scheme will create a new mews street between the residential and office buildings linking to a public landscaped courtyard, adding further architectural interest to the existing streetscape, as well as improving access to the site.
A natural palette of materials haschosen, including Portland Stone facades and metallic finishes, brought together with a high level of craft, detail and architectural integrity. The design is contemporary but also sensitive to the heritage context ofneighbourhood and the distinct character and variety of the Mayfair conservation area.
