HOLLAND PARK RESIDENTIAL SCHEME WINS APPROVAL

Design: John McAslan and Partners

GC Campden Hill LLP, a 50/50 joint venture partnership between Native Land and Grosvenor has been granted planning consent by The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for its two-acre, super-prime residential development at Campden Hill, overlooking Holland Park.

The 180,000 sq ft scheme, designed by John McAslan & Partners, comprises 69 private luxury residential apartments set amongst extensive, private landscaped gardens. Residents will enjoy 24 hour security, fully concierged entrance lobby, a residents’ leisure and spa facility together with 78 underground car parking spaces.

The site was sold to the joint venture by the Royal Borough for £100m in February 2010, to part finance the construction of a new state-of-the-art secondary school on a separate location to the north. A temporary school is to occupy the site until September 2013, when the new Holland Park Academy is set to open.

Work on the new residential development could commence in autumn 2013 with completion in spring 2016.

This approval replaces an existing planning consent for a 157,000 sq ft development.

Alasdair Nicholls, Chief Executive, Native Land said: “Native Land has applied its considerable expertise to add significant value to this site. As a result, the scheme will become the leading super prime development of the future. Our continuing track record of conceiving and delivering some of central London’s most desirable residential developments places us as market leaders in the sector.

We are delighted to have obtained this enhanced consent, designed by John McAslan & Partners and to be working again in joint venture partnership with Grosvenor.”

Craig McWilliam, Executive Director, Grosvenor Developments, said: “This development reflects Grosvenor’s strategy to build on our extensive experience of the prime residential sector, with a particular focus on London, where we are seeing huge demand for luxury properties. Campden Hill is a world-class apartment scheme that will have international, as well as domestic, appeal”.

Aidan Potter Director of Design, John McAslan + Partners said: “Our design at Campden Hill will create world class apartments to fully realise the potential of what is truly, a unique site within a contemporary design which has been carefully integrated into the sensitive setting of Holland Park and the local neighbourhood.”
