Liberation Tower from West:

The Liberation Tower is a 372-meter-high telecommunications tower, the second-tallest structure in the country and the 39th tallest building in the world. The tower is not publicly accessible to tourists.

However, the complex building attached to the tower houses government offices such as the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority and a government service center that offer civil services related to Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Public Authority For Civil Information, Ministry of Justice, Public Institution for Social Security, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Fire Service Directorate, and Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour.

Originally intended to be named The Kuwait Telecommunications Tower, construction of the tower commenced before the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2, 1990. When the invasion took place, construction, which was almost half-way complete, was put on hold. However, the structure received no damage, and construction resumed after Iraqi forces were expelled on February 27, 1991. Upon completion in 1993, the tower was renamed the Liberation Tower, symbolizing Kuwait’s liberation from Iraq.

Al Hamra Tower:

Al Hamra Tower
Tallest tower in the city at 413 m (1,355 ft), and the tallest building in Kuwait. Construction of the skyscraper started in 2005. It was completed in 2011.

Designed by architectural firms Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Ramshir and Callison, it is the tallest carved concrete skyscraper in the world, and the thirty-sixth tallest building in the world at 414 m (1,358 ft). Flared walls reaching from the southwest and southeast corners of the core span the entire height of the tower, and there is a column-free 24-meter-tall lobby.

OMA / Iyad Alsaka and Reinier de Graaf, in collaboration with Kuwait-based consultant Pace as a local partner, have revealed their design for the Wafra Tower, a residential tower in the Hessa Al Mubarak District along the Kuwait City waterfront.

The concept stems from a controversial duality imposed by the clients need for complete privacy as well as the desire for distinguishing the house into an iconic building from within the neighborhood.
