White is the colour of sustainability

Iconic HIMACS Alpine White, and many other colours of this hi-tech solid surface, now have SCS Certification for recycled content.

Answering the demand for increased sustainability in key design materials, LX Hausys is proud to announce that HIMACS has achieved SCS Recycled Content Certification for its iconic white colours: Alpine White and Alpine White Ultra-Thermoforming.

Setting an important precedent, HIMACS is also the first solid surface to be awarded SCS Certification for an advanced colour formulation, with its Intense Ultra collection in Intense Ultra Black, Intense Ultra Dark Grey, Intense Ultra Grey, and Intense Ultra Light Grey. What’s more, a helpful selection of other colours within the HIMACS portfolio now contain pre-consumer recycled content.

Designed and produced by LX Hausys, HIMACS offers architects, designers, fabricators and consumers the flexibility to realise their creative visions their way, whether through thermoformed curves, translucent effects, or an extensive and inspiring chromatic offering. Every project can now also benefit from enhanced sustainability in material choice, whether in the purest white, the deepest black, the most versatile neutrals or a variety of colourful options.

White that does so much more

Both Alpine White and Alpine White Ultra-Thermoforming from HIMACS, part of the Solids range, are now SCS certified for an even more sustainable choice when it comes to specifying this in-demand surface, whether for interior or exterior projects.

Durable and non-porous, it’s ideal for creating sleek, seamless and hygienic worksurfaces, splashbacks, kitchen islands, cladding, vanities and wet rooms in residential and healthcare environments – plus multiple applications in commercial settings from walls to floors and display systems to reception desks and much more. HIMACS is also frequently specified for high-impact exterior projects.

Alpine White Ultra-Thermoforming is an enhanced option for creating eye-catching and ergonomic curves at increased radii as well as spectacular facades that can incorporate relief lettering, company logos and lighting effects. Both colours are now ingeniously manufactured with 8% SCS Certified Recycled Content while retaining their pristine whiteness.

Intensive Performance

HIMACS can also proudly claim to be the first solid surface to receive SCS Certification for an advanced formulation of the material. Its profoundly colour saturated Intense Ultra range in Black, Dark Grey, Grey and Light Grey also contains 8% SCS certified recycled content.

This new collection combines Intense Colour Technology with Ultra-Thermoforming for the best of both worlds. Opening up powerful new possibilities for surface design, this advance offers remarkable performance. Dark hues become richer, deeper and more resistant, meaning fewer visible marks, while colour consistency during and after fabrication maintains this intensity, while producing less sanding dust and leaving minimal evidence of the working process.

Multiple Choice

Additional HIMACS colours that have received SCS certification include Arctic Granite, Lunar Sand and White Quartz which contain up to 10% SCS Certified Recycled Content. Aurora Grey from the Aurora & Marmo collection is now confirmed as having 6% SCS Certified Recycled Content, while Ice Queen and Shadow Queen from the Lucia range (designed by Marcel Wanders) plus Gravilla Snow are all accredited with 8% SCS Certified Recycled Content. Thus, contemporary colourways are combined with increasingly eco-conscious design potential. Durability, repairability and ease-of-maintenance with standard cleaning products are further qualities that make HIMACS a wise investment in the future.
