C+S Associati @home new kitchen concept
15 Apr 2014 – Based on the design of the @home new kitchen concept for .elmar by C+S architects, the video is an animation of the DNA of the kitchen by Platige Image.
@home design concept from C+S Architects on Vimeo.
Who ever said that pleasure wasn’t functional? Charles Eames.
@home thinks the kitchen out of the conventional box, reinterpreting the DNA of those forms that the market conventionally names kitchen and which remind us the more complex memories of an inhabited space rich in materiality, flavours and fragrances, a fireplace which to get warm around, a table to work on or share good food as well as a good conversation.
The most sophisticated technical solutions of design fabrication are combined to mould the table foot and the thin plains in stainless steel and titanium pushing the product beyond the conventions.
@home overcomes the idea of the kitchen as a limited superfunctional and aseptic machine.
Splitting up the system into its mayor components, the kitchen is magically turned into a space: the conventional kitchen island becomes a generous wood-made table to chat, sit, work or cook around. An epicentre is laid on the table: the fireplace as a bright steinless steel made plate. Other components are the library, where to collect our precious cooking books or other objects; a contemporary kitchen pantry in decorated ceramics, and the sideboards, which open up to reveal the beauty of their sophisticated interiors.
The hood is an organ, a vibration of light and sounds materialized by a series of cilinders which (together with the smell aspiration) both enlighten the fireplace and can play the music, turning the scents of the food into music. To these elements a new one is added, a small greenhouse to grow those spices so important for cooking tasty flavours.

@home is the space which instigates a special relationship with its user to make him/her well-being at home.
As Arnheim wrote: The relationship between the architectural object and its users is one of intense interaction.

LCV Law Court Offices Venice – added 17 Dec 2012
The project is a winning entry of an international competition. The building is a graft in the complexity of the Venetian urban system facing Piazzale Roma, the car-entrance space to the city of Venice. At the same time it becomes the ‘infrastructure’ which brings an existing 19th century complex factory (Ex-Manifattura Tabacchi) to a contemporary use: in fact it houses the the technological systems serving the whole.

Ponzano Primary School
Inside the sprawl city which destroyed the Veneto Region, Ponzano Primary School is a small clot: part of the building (the gym space) is in fact accessible by everybody after the school time. In this sense the school becomes a meeting place for the people of Ponzano community.

Nursery School Treviso
Immersed amongst the vineyards and wheat fields, their rows tracing the memories of ancient crops, where space is marked rhythmically by the stakes supporting vine shoots and loses its colourful third dimension at the moment of ploughing time, is the small plot that hosts the nursery school in Covolo. It appears to be the missing piece necessary to complete the small urban centre, whose stable landmarks include the 16th-century church and bell tower, and the Dominican complex of Villa Bellati.

TMCC cultural centre
Situated in front of Lido openings, Sant’Erasmo island is a part of the North Park inside the Laguna of Venice which has the main aims of the definition and promotion of natural, archeological, historical and cultural valences. It is the first public space of a huge program of riqualification which includes many other islands, in the aim of reconnecting them one to each other and to the City of Venice. The perspective is to offer a suggestive journey though tle landscape of the Lagune.

Conegliano Square
The underground parking and temporary square occupy the space of the old military square of Caserma San Marco. The main aim of the project was that of mantaining the void space both above and below. The Municipality was convinced to eliminate the possilibity of parking on the square which was, for this reason, designed with river stones and wood paths in order to be unaccesible by cars

Student Housing Florence
The students’ university housing in the former Fiat area at Novoli, Florence, was designed to adapt to the constraints of the brief – the perimeter of the lot, the alignment, the building height – and to use them as a springboard for original compositional and typological solutions that have produced a articulated, light-filled interior landscape inside severe walls.

Located in the Northern Lagoon Park north of Venice, on the southeastern edge of Sant’Erasmo island, the new water depurator is part of the general urban and environmental upgrading of the island that the Magistrato alle Acque di Venezia is implementing through the Consorzio Venezia Nuova, within the context of a programmatic agreement between the Magistrato alle Acque di Venezia, the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Venice.

The Wave Venice
A wave of larch boards supported breaks against the Palazzo del Cinema in the island of Lido in Venice. It impresses a new sign on the venetian scene: a catwalk for the entry of actors and film directors as well as an organised space for photographers.
