The Emirates Towers (Arabic: أبراج الإمارات) complex contains the Emirates Office Tower and Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. The two towers, which rise to 355 m (1,165 ft) and 309 m (1,014 ft), respectively, stand as the 23rd and 47th tallest buildings in the world. The two towers are connected by a 9,000 m² (96,875 ft²) two-storey retail complex known as “The Boulevard”. This UAE skyscrapers complex is located on the Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is a symbol of the city of Dubai.
A curiosity of this UAE skyscraper design is that the towers have a similar number of floors; the taller office tower actually contains 54 floors, while the hotel tower contains 56 floors. This is because the individual floor heights of the office tower are greater than that of the hotel.
The skyscraper complex is set in over 570,000 m² (42 acres) of gardens, with lakes, waterfalls and public seating areas. There is parking space for up to 1,800 cars.
Jumeirah Emirates Hotel Tower, also known as Emirates Tower Two is a 56-storey hotel in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The hotel includes 40 luxury suites and is operated by the Jumeirah International Group. Connected with 54-floor Emirates Office Tower by a retail boulevard, the two towers form the Emirates Towers complex. At a structural height of 309 m (1,014 ft), Emirates Towers Hotel is the smaller of the two of the sister towers. It ranks as the 48th-tallest building in the world. It is the world’s third-tallest all-hotel building. Construction of the building was completed on 15 April 2000.
The Emirates Office Tower is located in the financial centre of Dubai. The Emirates Towers complex designed by NORR represents modern business age architecture. Two equilateral triangles are visible icons one of their kind in Dubai. The tower consists of three large core walls.
The walls support the load transferred at four levels by large steel trusses, which are connected to the cores with the aid of post tensioning and shear stud connection. A curved wall rising almost the whole height of one face of the triangular building provides a panoramic view of the city. Emirates Office Tower building is surrounded by clad in silver aluminium panels, silver and copper reflective glass.
