“Throughout my career my commitment has been to innovative, creative and forward-thinking design. Graeme’s uncompromising standards and intuitive design skills are renowned and I am delighted to be joining his team,” said Stewart.
Brian Stewart brings a wealth of international and multi-disciplinary experience to the emerging practice; having worked on high-profile buildings in UK, Asia, Middle East and Eastern Europe. He is recognised within the architectural community for his significant contribution to the design and delivery of the new Scottish Parliament building and his role in the Fraser Inquiry; a review of the timeline and budget of the Parliament building. John Campbell, QC to the Inquiry, publicly commended Stewart’s contribution. The Scottish Parliament won the RIBA Stirling Prize and the RIAS Andrew Doolan Award in 2005.
“Brian’s experience in managing high-profile, high budget buildings across the world will be instrumental in growing the practice whilst broadening its project portfolio,” said Graeme Massie. “For a young architectural practice to be supported and advised by such a prominent and respected design industry figure is an invaluable opportunity for greater presence in the market, in addition to giving clients greater comfort with regards to the delivery of high quality buildings.”
Brian Stewart will be working to strengthen Graeme Massie Architects’ international presence as well as cultivating the business’ design portfolio by seeking collaborations that encourage forward-thinking design and best practice in architecture.
